Ali Qaradaghy (Kurdish: عه لی قه ره داغی) is a professional martial artist and Kurdish Muay Thai fighter known for his accomplishments in various Asian martial arts disciplines. He is also recognized as "Mr. Kurdistan" due to his contributions to the promotion of martial arts in the region[1]. Qaradaghy, who currently resides in Dubai, has a diverse background in martial arts, including Judo, kickboxing[2], Aikido, Muay Thai, wrestling, Lethwei, and Kun Khmer Boxing.
Early Life and Training[edit]
Ali Qaradaghy was born on January 26, 1991, in Sulaimaniyah[3], Kurdistan Region of Iraq. From an early age, he displayed a passion for martial arts and embarked on a journey to master various disciplines.
Qaradaghy spent most of his time with Muaythai / Muay boran extensively in Thailand and he became a Muaythai[4] teacher under Master Woody. However, he went to Myanmar to practise and compete in the traditional Burmese Lethwei[5] competitions. In addition , he practised Bokator under Master San Kim Sean[6] in Cambodia. Furthermore, he practised Judo[7], Karate[8], Aikido[9] and Bjj in Japan to perfect his striking techniques and honing his martial arts career skills in the renowned combat sport.
Career and Achievements[edit]
Qaradaghy obtained the red kroma (belt) from Bokator[10], a martial art associated with the Cambodian military defense. He also competed in Kun Khmer boxing competitions in Cambodia. In addition, Qaradaghy conducted Muay Thai seminars in Iraq. Though, Qaradaghy trained and competed in the K-1 competition in China and Iran. Moreover, he trained and participated Lethwei from Myanmar. Additionally, Qaradaghy completed Muay Thai advanced level at "Muaythai Institute Rangsit Thailand", which is recognized by the Ministry of education & World muaythai boxing. Besides, Qaradaghy holds a referee licenses in Muay Thai and Muay Boran from Senior Master Woody at "Luktupfah Muay Thai and Muay Boran school[11]", which is one of Thailand’s leading Muay Thai academies accredited by Thailand’s ministry of education, In association with the World Muaythai Organization (WMO), Kru Muaythai Association (KMA) and th World Muay Boran Federation (WMBF) under Thai Ministry of Culture. On the other hand, Qaradaghy is a licensed instructor for Muay Thai and Muay Boran at Kru-Muay Thai[12] Association under the Thai Ministry of Culture. Consequently, throughout the years COVID-19, Qaradaghy taught martial arts to elite governmental personnel in the Kurdistan of Iraq.[13]
Notable Highlights[edit]
Qaradaghy represented the Iraqi kickboxing midfield team from 2011 to 2013. He trained in wrestling in Iran in 2013 to enhance clinching techniques for Muay Thai combat. Qaradaghy competed in Muay Thai competitions in Thailand from 2013 to 2019.
He played a key role in introducing and popularizing Muay Thai and Muay Boran in Iraq and Kurdistan.

He was privileged to learn alongside a remarkable team of Masters and trainers who have significantly contributed to his growth as a martial artist, who were led by Thai Master,Woody and Coach Charoon Juntra, a highly respected Muay Thai expert.
However, Master U Aung Din, an esteemed Burmese Lethwei expert for the sciences of 9 limbs and Eh Phuthong[1], is a skilled Cambodian head teacher in Kun Khmer boxing, has collectively shaped his skills across various disciplines.
Moreover, Eh Phuthong had the valuable opportunity to train at the renowned Kodokan Judo Institute[2], which has further enhanced his grappling abilities. With their guidance, he has become a well- rounded fighter prepared to face any challenges that comes his way.
