Ali Reghba is a German-born Irish professional football player. He represents the Republic of Ireland national team at international level.
Early Life
Reghba was born in Germany to an Irish mother and an Algerian father. He moved to Dublin, Ireland.
Club Career
Reghba has come through the Bohemians. He made his debut for the club on 21 September 2018 and scored 2 goals on his debut. There was rumoured interest from Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Leicester City. Reghba went on trial with Leicester City’s under 23’s scoring 3 times in two trial matches. It was expected he would join the Foxes but he rejoined Bohemians on a one-year deal on 22 February 2019. Media reports suggested he resigned with the Dublin side with an agreement in place that he would join Leicester City in the summer of 2019.[1]
International Career
Reghba is eligible to play for three countries at international level. Reghba is eligible to play for Algeria as his father is from Algeria. He can play for Republic of Ireland as his mother is Irish and because he grew up in Ireland. He can also play for Germany as he was born in Germany.
Reghba has represented Ireland at under 19 level. He is a member of the Irish under 19 side that qualified for the country’s first U19 Euros since 2011. Ireland were the first team to qualify alongside hosts Armenia.
