Biography[edit]

Ali Khodami, known professionally as Ali Sorena, was born in April 1990 in Garmsar.[1] He is an Iranian rapper, songwriter, and underground music producer. Sorena began his career in rap and hip hop music in 2008, initially working with Benjamin and Farzan Vahshat. He gained recognition with early songs like "You will not be forgiven" with Benjamin, "Crime" with Benjamin and Farzan Vahesht, "Now is not the time to sleep," and "Vatan," which he released individually in late 2011. Sorena's songs often address social issues, poverty, and the struggles of the people.[2]

The Lonely Man[edit]

Sorena's first official album, "The Lonely Man," was released on February 10, 2012. Comprising 10 songs, it became one of the most famous Persian rap albums and attracted many underground music listeners.[3] The album narrates the life of the lower classes and addresses social and political issues, including the 2009 Iranian presidential election protests.[4]

Avar[edit]

His second album, "Avar," was released on February 10, 2014, containing eight songs. This album continued the social-protest theme with more radical lyrics, such as "I'm Not Afraid" and "Majnoon Shahr."[5][6]

Negar[edit]

Sorena's third album, "Negar," was released on March 17, 2016. This album contains 13 songs and features abstract, mythological, and figurative poetry, telling the story of a girl named Negar.[7][8][9][10]

Kavir (Desert)[edit]

Ali Sorena's fourth studio album, "Kavir," was released on November 19, 2017. This album contains seven songs and is more personal and straightforward, reflecting Sorena's character and life.[11][12][13]
