Following the partition of Pakistan, his family moved to Bogura, where his maternal grandfather was a local businessman, before finally settling in the Dhaka District. His father, Motiur Rahman Zahedi, earned an MSc degree and served as a lecturer at Rajshahi University before working in the pharmaceutical industry. [15]
