Alien: Sea of Sorrows is a 2014 novel written by James A. Moore and published by Titan Books. Set after Alien Resurrection the book follows Alan Decker, a descendant of Ellen Ripley who is held liable for her actions by The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, and his involvement in a Xenomorph infestation on the planet LV-178.

Alien: Sea of Sorrows is the second novel in the Alien trilogy,[2][3] designed to tie into events from the existing film series. It is preceded by Alien: Out of the Shadows and followed by Alien: River of Pain.

Synopsis

LV-178 is now colonised and renamed New Galveston. While investigating a region of the planet with incredibly toxic sands, dubbed the Sea of Sorrows, Alan Decker's previously latent empathic abilities cause him to briefly connect with the Xenomorph that are lying dormant beneath the planet. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation forcibly recruits Decker onto a team of mercenaries to capture these creatures.
