Aligarh Muslim University Students' Union[edit]

The Aligarh Muslim University Students' Union was previously known as the Siddons Union Club. It was inaugurated under the presidency of Theodore Beck, with Khwaja Sajjad Husain as Vice President and Syed Mohammed Ali as Secretary.

On 25 October 1920, Mahatma Gandhi visited the College and was made the first Honorary Life Member of the Students' Union.

On 24 November 1928, Allama Iqbal was conferred with the life membership of the AMU Students' Union.

On 23 December 1983, Nobel Laureate Mother Teresa was also conferred with the life membership of the AMU Students' Union.[1]
