Alina Padikkal is an Indian Television Anchor and Actress who predominantly works in Malayalam Television industry. She is a veteran on the small screen. She started her career as an anchor when she was studying in class three. Her ‘Nayana’ character in ‘Bharya’ Malayalam serial is quite popular among family audiences. She hosted Comedy Circus and D4 Dance in Mazhavil Manorama, and was an anchor for programs on Kaumudy TV like Day with a Star, and hosted programs on channels like Asianet, Flowers, Kairali etc.
In 2020 Alina contested in the second season of reality show Bigg Boss (Malayalam season 2) on Asianet and completed 75 days until the show was called off. She was one of the youngest contestants in the show.
Early life
Brought up in a nuclear family based in Thiruvananthapuram, she hails from Kottayam, did her schooling in Trivandrum and completed graduation with a BA triple major honours from Christ College, Bangalore and settled in Bangalore itself.[1]
Career
She started her career at a very young age. In 2004, at the age of 10, she won the Kerala State Award for Best Anchor for the program Butterflies on Asianet channel and then did anchoring for many other channels like Surya TV, Kiran TV, Asianet Plus, Mazhavil Manorama, Kairali TV, Flowers (TV channel), Asianet Cable Vision, Kaumudy TV etc. From 2004 to 2013 she was prominently seen hosting for different channels and then took a break.[2] In 2015 she started with two shows on Kairali and Flowers and then entered into acting as the heroine for a serial on Asianet channel named Bharya, and also hosted Komady Circus and D4 Dance Junior vs Senior on Mazhavil Manorama.[3]

Personal life
Alina is the only child of her parents. She did her schooling from Holy Angels' I.S.C School, Thiruvananthapuram and went to Christ College, Bangalore to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and English Literature. After completing the degree, Alina did a Journalism Internship with The Hindu. Thereafter, she enrolled herself in The Oxford Educational Institutions, Bangalore to pursue an MBA.

- Controversy: In 2018, Alina gave an interview to a YouTube channel, after which, someone made a troll video. The troll video was a mix of the interviewer's questions and Alina's answers edited with sarcastic dialogues from some popular films. The troll video went viral on social media. Later, Alina slammed the trollers with a bold LIVE video through her social media account.
