Alison Green is an award-winning[1]  Australian businesswoman and the current CEO of Pantera Press, a publishing company she co-founded in 2008.[2]

Career[edit]

Green holds various leadership positions within the Australian literary community. She is currently the Deputy Chair of Story Factory,[3] a not-for-profit organisation supporting at-risk youth through creative writing programs. Green is also the Director of the Pantera Press Foundation which supports causes such as literacy initiatives, indigenous youth programs, and environmental projects.[4] Between 2013-2023 she served as co-deputy chair of Writing NSW.[5]

Pantera Press[edit]

Pantera Press, co-founded by Green and John M. Green in 2008, is an Australian publishing company. It operates as a social purpose business, donating resources to organizations that promote literacy and reading.[6] Pantera Press publishes a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, receiving recognition within the industry, including Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA) Small Publisher Children's Book of the Year Award in 2019 and the ABIA Small Publisher Adult Book of the Year Award in 2023.

In 2016, Green co-founded the Pantera Press imprint Lost the Plot with his brother. It aims to address issues facing the younger generation with a touch of humor, focusing on topics such as climate change, mental health, and empowerment.[7][8]

Green has received recognition for her contributions to business and social responsibility.[9] In 2016, she was named one of Australia's 100 most influential women by The Australian Financial Review.[10] Green was awarded the Sydney's Young Entrepreneur of the Year award by Business News Australia in 2019 (PR & Media) and 2020 (Arts & Culture).[11] In 2023 she was included in Business Elite's "40 under 40" list and named the Most Dynamic Woman Entrepreneur Spearheading Change by APAC Entrepreneurs Magazine.[12][13]

Speaking Engagements[edit]

Green has spoken at various events, including Writing NSW's First Friday events (2022),[14] which focus on industry discussions within the literary sector. She was also a keynote speaker at the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia's International Women's Day event in 2020.[15] Additionally, she was a panellist at the 2018 Global Summit of Women in Sydney, Australia, discussing "Why Millennials Are Critical to 21st Century Economies" and "Creating Businesses that Transform Society," a session featuring young entrepreneurs who have built successful technology-based businesses.[16]
