Alison Hams is a musician and music philanthropist from Whyalla, South Australia.[1][2][3]

Career[edit]

Alison's song "Second Fiddle" won the Country Section of the UK Songwriting Contest. [4]

In May 2023 Alison and her husband Mark released a new album titled "Out Into The Blue" which has charted to Number 11 on the Australian Play MPE Country Radio Chart, and Number 12 on the Australian Play MPE All Genres Radio Chart.[5][6][7] Alison released "Jelly Baby Song" to raise money for research into Type 1 Diabetes in 2012. [8][9][10]

Honours and awards[edit]

In 2019 she was one of 3 Finalists for the Humanitarian Award at the Australian Women In Music Awards in Brisbane (won by Dami Im).[11][12][13][14][15][16][17]

Hams has been awarded for her provision of music tuition services to young people, winning the 2021 South Australian Music Award for Best Music Educator.[18][19][20] Alison and her husband Mark Tempany run the philanthrop[ic Whyalla Recording Scholarship. [21]

In 2021 Alison was inducted onto the South Australian Womens Honour Roll for her service to, and philanthropy through music, by the Governor Of South Australia.[22][23] [24][25]

In 2023 Alison was announced as one of three Finalists for the Humanitarian Award at the Australian Women In Music Awards in Brisbane.[26][27][28]

Personal life[edit]

Hams is married to musician Mark Tempany.[29][30]
