Alkemy X is an American media production headquartered in Philadelphia. The company provides creative production services for long-form unscripted television and digital media as well as VFX production services for feature films and commercials.[2]

Overview[edit]

Alkemy X was originally incorporated as Shooters, Inc. in April 1981 by Dave West, Craig Needleman and Jay Hartigan. In 1986, they opened their first office in New Jersey and in 2001, they moved the headquarters to Philadelphia[3][2] In 2006, the company formed Shooters TV for content production and also expanded to form its visual effects division called DIVE.[4] It opened Shooters NYC, a production and visual effect studio, in New York City in 2011.[5]

In 2014, Shooters, Inc. rebranded as Alkemy X, merging all the divisions into one company.[6][7] In February 2016, Justin Wineburgh joined the company as its CEO[2] and opened a studio in Los Angeles in 2018.[8] As of November 2021, Alkemy X has studios in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Amsterdam, Singapore and Toronto.[9] In February 2022, the company produced a commercial for Headspace with John Legend.[10]
