The All the Light Above It Too World Tour is a concert tour by American musician Jack Johnson. The tour was set to help Johnson promote his 7th studio album, All the Light Above It Too. On February 9, 2017, the tour was announced with the release of Johnson's song "Fragments", from the film "The Smog of the Sea."[1] The tour's first date was for him to perform at Huntington Bank Pavilion on June 1, 2017.[2] Johnson then announced more tour dates on July 14, 2017 along with the lead single of the album, "My Mind Is for Sale."[3] The South American leg of the tour was later announced when Johnson released his third single from the album, "You Can't Control It."[4] The day before the album was released on September 7, 2017, Johnson announced the Australian Leg of the tour.[5] On December 10, 2017, the European leg of the tour was announced, along with more US dates due to demand.[6]

The tour ended on November 10, 2019 with his show in Costa Rica.[7]

Opening acts[edit]

Background[edit]

The original tour started on June 1, 2017, which was the original time that Johnson and Brushfire Records planned to release the album. But due to a surfing trip attended by Johnson, the album release date had to be moved to September 2017. For Johnson's 2017 summer shows, the average gross was $758,437, and ranked at number 30 on the top concert tours of the summer.[8] To date, the tour has sold 99.5% of all the tickets available, making it a huge success.[9] On March 18, 2018, Johnson performed again at Santa Barbara Bowl with other special guests. 100% of the proceeds went to United Way Worldwide to help support families from the 2017 California wildfires.[10] The show at Santa Barbara Bowl raised more than $500,000 for United Way.[11] "I hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as my band, crew, and I did," Johnson said. "The process of working together with so many friends to support our community ended up being healing in itself. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the evening possible." The projected goal for the concert was $200,000.[12] Johnson also helped United Way by helping out the community during the days before the concert.[13] He also performed in Hawaii on May 12, 2018 to raise money for Kau'i Relif and recovery fund. Johnson will also be performing at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 6, 2018 along with artists such as Aretha Franklin and Sheryl Crow.[14][needs update] On June 15, he continued by playing at Mountain Jam 2018.

Commercial reception[edit]

Ticket sales and Boxscore[edit]

According Billboard Boxscore reports, the tour grossed a total of $109.4 million.[15] During the 2017 legs of the tour, Pollstar reported that 403,814 tickets were sold for a gross of $22.9 million.[16] This made Johnson's tour the 90th best selling tour of 2017.[17] The average ticket price from the 2017 legs was a low $56.71, and the average show gross was $693,939.[17]
