Alliance for Full Participation
The Alliance for Full Participation (AFP) is a formal partnership, founded in 2003, of organizations serving the developmental disabilities field. They share a commitment to the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities into the mainstream of American life.

2004 Discussion points[edit]
In September 2005, 2400 people including self-advocates, human service providers, researchers and state liaisons attended the AFP Summit in Washington, D.C. Discussion points included:
- the closing of segregated institutions, schools and sheltered employment workshops
- community inclusion
- employment and volunteer opportunities for people with disabilities
- financial support for disability services
- including people with disabilities in the planning, governance and leadership of disability services and programs
- an end to the usage of the term “mental retardation”
- control of public funds for disability services
- wages for direct support professionals
- Medicaid reform
