Alfa Timez (born Alpha Kato Jingo Hussein), also known as Alfa Tymz or AlfaTymz, is a Ugandan media personality, television and radio presenter and entertainment journalist. He is best known for hosting the entertainment programme NBS KURT on NBS Television and Social Buzz on Sanyuka TV Uganda both under Next Media Services.[1]
Early life and education
Timez was born in the 1990s in Wakiso District, Uganda. He attended King Fahad Primary School, Bugembe Islamic Secondary School, and East High School in Ntinda. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Kampala University.[2]
Career
Early career in Jinja
Timez began his media career in Jinja, Eastern Uganda. His first on-air television appearance was on 4 December 2017 on BABA TV. He also worked as a radio presenter on BABA FM and was involved in events and digital media through PAACO Events Plus and Skizar Media Group.[3]
Galaxy FM and Galaxy TV
In 2022, Timez joined Galaxy FM and Galaxy Television. During his three year tenure, he rose to the position of Brand and Promotions Manager.[4][5]
Next Media Services
On 6 May 2025, Timez announced his departure from Galaxy FM and Galaxy TV via social media thanking the Zzina family for three years of professional growth.[6]
At Next Media, Timez hosts NBS KURT, a Saturday afternoon entertainment show on NBS Television (2:00–4:00 p.m.), taking over from longtime host Tuff B. He has interviewed prominent Ugandan and East African artists on the programme.[7]
He also hosts Social Buzz on Sanyuka TV, a Monday-to-Thursday evening show (8:40–9:05 p.m.) that covers trending social media content, viral videos, and entertainment news targeted at youth audiences.[8]
Timez is the founder of Tymz Creationz, a media and content creation company.

Timez maintains an active presence on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter)
