Early Life

Alvin Soprano was born Alvin Soprano Romanov on May 16, 1994, in Istanbul, Turkey. She was raised between Istanbul, Rome, and Moscow. Her multicultural upbringing was influenced by her mother, Nourshen, who is of Mongolian Armenian descent, and her father, Egor, who is of Russian Italian descent. She began playing The Sims at age nine, which she credits as the start of her storytelling and creative journey. Her interest in horror began at age five after watching the television series Freddy’s Nightmares. This early fascination with the character of Freddy Krueger and his twisted nature became a central influence on her artistic style.

Career

Alvin Soprano is a pioneer in the machinima genre, recognized for her two-decade-long career and consistent innovation as a filmmaker, writer, and director. She is also a producer, actress, voice actress, cinematographer, YouTuber, and model.

Soprano’s filmmaking career officially began on March 27, 2007, with her first YouTube channel, "Soprano Productions". There, she released her debut machinima, Something Strange in Strangetown. She continued to produce 17 machinima films before the channel was deleted on September 28, 2013. She has stated that breaks in her career were “quiet periods between creative waves” and that she has never stopped creating, even when not publishing work.

She later returned to YouTube with a collaborative channel with Aylin Baykal, active from June 28, 2017, to October 3, 2018. Soprano launched her current, ongoing YouTube channel on December 4, 2019. After a brief period of inactivity in 2021, she returned on December 13, 2024, with new work, including Goodbye Mommy and Bone-Skinny.

In addition to machinima, Soprano maintained a horror vlog channel from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2014 to 2019, uploading over 200 videos. While in film school, she also created six live-action short films between 2013 and 2015, and occasionally acted in them. Since 2009, she has worked professionally as a petite model in fashion campaigns and on the runway, a career she keeps separate from her filmmaking pursuits.

Soprano has collaborated with longtime friends and creative partners, including music composer Jakob Chambers and film co-editor Matthew Gordon.

Soprano's filmography primarily explores themes within the horror genre, often blending it with elements of absurdism and dark humor. Personal Life

In her personal life, Alvin Soprano was born to Egor and Nourshen Betty Romanov, whose family backgrounds are of Russian Italian and Mongolian Armenian descent, respectively. She has been publicly associated with a few individuals over the years. She dated Zachary Chambers from 2016 to 2020 and was in a relationship with Bill Gaard from December 2023 to March 2025. As of July 2025, she has been publicly linked with Alexander Carter, a Swedish American writer and artist. She is also a pet owner, sharing her home with three cats named Leonidas, Agrippa, and Ezekiel. Beyond her professional pursuits, her hobbies include photography, sketching, and traditional painting. She is also an avid gamer.
