Amadéo Barrios (Known as Amadéo) was born in Philipines, in 1941. Amadéo is a choreographer, a singer and a producer.

Biography[edit]

When he was 16 years old he moved to United States of America. His career began in New York in 1959 under the supervision of Jerome Robbins during Amadeo's participation as member of the cast (1959 - 1963) of the musical West Side Story.[1]. In 1965 he moved permanently in Paris, France and he starts his new step at his career as choreographer and artistic director for the musical Hair in Europe[2]. Since 1970 Amadéo is passing all his summers in Greece where in 1972, he collaborated with Stavros Xarhakos and created a show called "Children of the Universe"[3]. His next project was the rock Opera Black Mikado[4] (1975) as its choreographer. In the same year he participates as a choreographer in the Musical Mayflower which is played in Paris at the Theater de la porte Saint-Martin [5][6]. In 1976 he collaborates with Dany Saval in her musical comedy Penelope [7][8]

Over the years, he participated in numerous Television Shows as a choreographer and/or coach of several big stars such as Elvis Presley[1], France Gall[9], Arielle Dombasle[10]

In 1984 he was honored with the Medal of city of Paris for his contribution in culture

Amadeo as a Singer[edit]

In 1978 Amadéo published his first single entitled "Moving like a Superstar" by Elver & iBach[11][12]. The album contains songs with the classic tune of the Disco Era[13]. In 1978 he published the single "Real Magic"[14], in 1979 the single "Sex-Appeal"[15] and finally, in 1984 the single "C'est la vie"[16]
