Amanda Hindlian
Amanda Hindlian is a financial services executive who serves as President of Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE) where she leads the global Fixed Income and Data business. Prior to her current role, she was the Global Head of Capital Markets at the New York Stock Exchange. Hindlian was previously a Partner at Goldman Sachs where she held various roles over her nearly twenty-year career at the firm.
Early life
Amanda Hindlian was raised in the suburbs of Massachusetts. She attended Wellesley College where she received numerous academic honors. Hindlian graduated *summa cum laude* from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish in 2001.
Career
Goldman Sachs
Amanda began her nearly twenty-year career at Goldman Sachs in 2001 as a semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment equity research analyst in the Global Investment Research division of the firm. She then held a series of other leadership roles within Global Investment Research, including Chief of Staff and Senior Director of the Global Markets Institute, the firm's think-tank. She co-authored a series of papers on economic and public policy following the 2008 global financial crisis.
Hindlian was then asked to join the Executive Office as Senior Strategic Advisor and Head of the Client Strategy Group in the Office of the Chairman. She supported both the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and President and Chief Operating Officer of Goldman Sachs.
Amanda was subsequently named both President of the Global Markets Institute and Chief Operating Officer of Global Investment Research. As President of the Institute, Hindlian co-authored papers and advised the firm's clients on topics such as climate change, gender pay parity and corporate strategy. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversaw a range of business functions including technology, finance, digital strategy, data and legal and compliance.
During her tenure at Goldman Sachs, Hindlian was Chair of the Global Investment Research Client and Business Standards Committee, a member of the firmwide Partnership Committee and a member of the firmwide Operational Risk Committee. Hindlian was named Managing Director in 2010 and Partner in 2016.
Intercontinental Exchange
Hindlian joined Intercontinental Exchange in February 2021 as the Global Head of Capital Markets at the New York Stock Exchange. Hindlian worked with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private equity firms and investment banks to advise private companies seeking to raise public capital. Hindlian and her team led a record year of new listings for the New York Stock Exchange.
In November of 2021, Hindlian was named President of ICE[1], with oversight of the company's fixed income and data services business. In this capacity, Amanda leads ICE's global teams that are responsible for pricing and analytics, reference data, indices, desktop solutions, consolidated feeds, connectivity services and bond execution venues. Hindlian is a member of the ICE Management Committee.
