Summary[edit]

Amanda Jaros is an actor and screenwriter.[1]. She entered the public spotlight while playing Alina in Taylor Sheridan's 1883[2][3]. Prior to filming the Paramount+ show, she also starred in ABC's Women of the Movement[4] as well as other television shows and movies.

Acting[edit]

Amanda's role in the CBS drama Criminal Minds gave her the opportunity to join SAG-AFTRA, the actor's union.[4] Since then, she has acted in Nashville, NCIS, Blumhouse's Insidious: The Last Key and more.[1] Amanda attended the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 in connection with her role in Automatik's Run Sweetheart Run which premiered there prior to the Covid pandemic lockdown.

In 1883, Amanda played Alina, a western European immigrant that travels with the historic Dutton family of the Yellowstone franchise. During cowboy camp training for the show, Amanda learned equestrian skills including herding and roping cattle, as well as driving a covered wagon[5]. Following instructions from showrunner Taylor Sheridan, Amanda did not shave her arms or legs for the duration of filming from August 2021-January 2022 in order to reflect an authentic pioneer appearance[3].

Screenwriting[edit]

Amanda Jaros studied screenwriting at UCLA[4]. She has written for the animated re-boot of The Tom and Jerry Show on Boomerang and Tom and Jerry in New York on HBO Max. As of March 2022, Amanda emphasized she is focusing her writing efforts on live-action narrative screenplays[6]

Philanthropy[edit]

Amanda is advocate for a number of anti-sex trafficking organizations. She has been a team leader at After Hours Ministry which assists sexually exploited and trafficked women out prostitution in South Los Angeles[7]. Amanda has also volunteered for Rahab's Rope in India[8], marched with A21's Walk for Freedom and raised funds for the charity Dressember for their annual 5k race in 2022.[9]

Other[edit]

Amanda and other cast members from 1883 had a reunion during Tim McGraw's Boots on the Ground show in Norco, CA. Along with Faith Hill, LaMonica Garrett, James Landry Hebert, Alex Fine, and Emerson Miller, the cast sang "I like it, I love it," on stage with Tim.[10]

According to her instagram page, Amanda stays active with horseback riding, traveling, skiing, axe-throwing and para-sailing.[11]
