The Amazon Canoe Challenge is an adventure event where participants race through remote rivers by canoe.[1] The first edition is scheduled to be held between 11 - 19 June 2023 and will take place in the Junin region of Peru. Participants will be limited to 20 teams for the first event.

Each team consists of two people, and the teams will compete for victory along a 250 km course set over the river Tambo and river Ene in the Junin region of Peru. Each stage takes one day, and at the end of the daily stage, they set camp in the next Base Camp. At the end of the course, a celebration ceremony is held and the winning team is crowned race champion.

This event is run in partnership with the local Ashaninka communities. The event crew is a mix of international and local Ashaninka crew, and supplies and services are sourced locally as much as possible.

The Amazon Canoe Challenge aims to raise awareness of the environmental threats that face the Ene and Tambo river regions. These areas have high levels of deforestation and are continuously exploited by large corporations trying to get their piece of the resource-rich lands that make up this part of the Amazon.
