From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

American Weekend Entertainment, LLC (2015-2019)

The first incarnation of American Weekend Entertainment (also known as AWE) was a Limited Liability Company formed to produce and distribute music editorial video content for websites of legacy publishers. AWE first conscripted well-known MTV former VJ, Mark Goodman, and veteran Rolling Stone author, Alan Light, to be the editorial force behind their new enterprise; ultimately hiring several former MTV executives. At its zenith, AWE reached over seventy-five newspaper websites primarily through Tribune Publishing and Tribune Content Agency, plus 1500 Digital Out-Of-Home screens in airports, university bookshops, malls and taxis. In the process, AWE developed and trademarked several features including Music Daily® and Music Weekend®.

Creative and directional disagreements between the partners in late 2016 led to a buyout of existing shares by co-founder Mel Adler. In 2017, the company pivoted to focus its efforts on developing hyper-local music news programming for local television stations. Music Weekend was repurposed and produced as a local concert calendar to serve as a pilot for WTNH-TV, Hartford.
