Amina Hassan Sheikh born in Rawalpindi, is a Pakistani politician belonging to Dheri Hassan Abad, and was elected member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab under the reserved seats for women in General Elections held in 2024.

Early life and Education[edit]

Born in the city of Rawalpindi to one of the oldest landowning families of Rawalpindi City, Sheikh’s Great Grandfather, Sheikh Abdul Ghani (Sarkar), was one of the closest companions of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and played a vital role in the freedom movement for Pakistan. Sheikh attended Beaconhouse School System in her early days, and later completed her A-Levels with distinction from the same. She did her LL.B. from University of London, whereby later scored a masters in Law ( LL.M. ) from University of California, Berkeley. Sheikh specializes in Public Policy and Politics.

Political Career[edit]

In 2013, Amina Hassan Sheikh joined Pakistan Muslim League Noon (PML-N), and started assisting the then Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq where she got her political and legislative training up until 2018. In the Elections of 2018, Sheikh designed and executed several campaigns and later on advised the Opposition Leader Office on Legislative issues. Recently, during her visit to Europe as part of European Union Visitors Program 2023, Sheikh worked on the possibility of partnerships between Pakistan and the EU, in the mining and renewable energy sector. She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate for PML(N) on reserved seats for women in the 2024 General Election.
