Aminata Maternal Foundation

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Aminata Maternal Foundation was established in 2016 by the published writer[1] and UNHCR ambassador[2] Aminata Conteh-Biger to prevent obstetric fistula[3] and lower the maternal mortality ratio in Sierra Leone,[4] which was the highest in the world in 2014.[5]

The foundation is a registered Australian charity[6] that works funding programmes that support vulnerable women and teenage mothers through the Aberdeen Women Centre in Freetown. The Aberdeen Women Centre is run by Ann Gloag's foundation, Freedom From Fistula.
