Aminatou Gaoh
Aminatou Batouré Gaoh (born December 31, 1961 in Kieche) is a Nigerien diplomat.
Life
Aminatou Gaoh attended the Abdou Moumouni University, where she graduated with a licentiate and magister in private law. She also studied international economic law at the University of Paris V. [1] Gaoh held various management positions in the Nigerien Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation from 1994, initially as Head of the Human Resources Department, as Head of the Economic and Social Council Department from 1995 to 1998, and as Head of the Africa Department from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, she moved to the Embassy of Niger in Paris, where she worked as an advisor for economic, trade and cultural affairs, as well as decentralized cooperation. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2011, she was Director of the Departments of Decentralized Cooperation, Non-Governmental Organizations and the Assembly of Delegates at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
Gaoh was accredited as Niger's ambassador to Germany on February 24, 2012. [2] Her official residence was in Berlin. [1] She was also accredited as ambassador to Sweden from October 25, 2012, [3] to Denmark from November 16, 2012, [4] to Norway from November 29, 2012, [5] to the Holy See from December 13, 2012, [1] to Finland from November 14, 2013, [6] and to Poland from January 13, 2015. [7] Boubacar Boureima succeeded her as Niger's ambassador to Germany on March 2, 2016. [8]
Gaoh is married and has a son. [1]
Distinctions
In 2017, Aminatou Gaoh was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. [9] At the time, she stressed that "this distinction is certainly that of the people of Niger (...) this tribute paid to my modest person is an honor to German-Nigerien cooperation, which has grown considerably since the advent of the Seventh Republic of Niger".
