Amir Hever

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Amir Hever is an Israeli entrepreneur and inventor,[1] the co-founder and CEO of UVeye.[2] He has over a decade of experience in the field of computer vision. Previously, Hever was Vice President (R&D) at Visualead, CEO at Movizzy, Software Architect at Correlsense, and Pre/Post Sales Manager at Risotech.

Early life and education[edit]

Hever was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Career[edit]

Hever's career spans artificial intelligence and deep learning, having co-founded several startups in the field. He co-founded UVeye with his brother, Ohad Hever. Hever was driving into a government facility when he discovered a massive flaw in its security process. As he approached the entrance gate, a security guard dropped to his knees to look underneath his vehicle. When he asked what he was looking for, the guard replied that he was looking for threats but couldn't see anything. That is when Hever realized that something was wrong. Soon, Hever assembled a team and began researching the problem and potential solutions. Consequently, UVeye was established in 2016. It built an under-vehicle inspection system that uses deep learning to bridge the security gap.[3]

UVeye is Hever's third venture. From December 2012-September 2016, he was VP of R&D at Visualead, which Alibaba acquired in 2015 for an estimated $6-9 million.[4] At Visualead, he created technology to improve interactions between people and brands through mobile innovation. Before Visualead, Hever worked as a Software Architect at Correlsense, an enterprise-application performance management (APM) company.

Hever has been a contributing author on Security Industry Association[5] and Vehicle Service Pros, and has appeared on several podcasts, including ASOTU.[6]

Recognition[edit]

In November 2022, Hever received an Automotive News All-Star award for UVeye's development of vehicle-inspection systems to improve customer service at new and used car dealerships throughout the United States. Hever was recognized for achievements in the category of Fixed Ops – Vendor.[7]
