An accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei has served as an associate professor of information systems at the Ansari College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) since 2016. Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei’s research, which has received funding from federal, state and international agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Science Foundation, focuses on healthcare analytics and has been used in the global modeling of viruses like Ebola and COVID-19. Prior to joining UNR, Dr. Talaei-Khoei spent several years as a faculty member with the University of Technology Sydney. In Sydney, he collaborated with local clinics to improve quality of care by creating analytics models using daily medical records. Dr. Amir Talaei-Khoei holds a master of science in information technology from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and a PhD in information systems from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He maintains membership in professional organizations such as the Association for Information Systems and served on the editorial board of the Australasian Journal of Information Systems.
