Amitov Teja (born 16 November 1996) is an Indian actor and screenwriter. He is the eldest son of Teja. Amitov made his first screen appearance at the age of four in a cameo role in his father's Telugu directorial debut, Chitram in the year 2000.[1]
Life and career[edit]
Early life[edit]
Amitov was born on 16 November 1995 in Mumbai.[2] He spent the first two years of his life in Mumbai, where his father worked as a cinematographer and director for many major Bollywood motion pictures. The family later relocated to Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana in 1997.[3]
Amitov made his first screen appearance at the age of four in a cameo role in the Telugu motion picture Chitram in 2000.[4]
Amitov attended Oakridge International School, in central Hyderabad.[5] After graduation from high school,[6] Amitov attended Bachelor of Arts - Film & Television Production program at University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts. He dropped out after the first semester and moved to New York to pursue a career in acting.[7]
Personal life[edit]
The younger son of Teja, Amitov's three-year-old brother Aurov Teja, died of prolonged illness in Hyderabad on Saturday, 19 March 2011.[8] Aurov had been suffering from breathing problems and cerebral palsy, caused by faulty medical procedures followed by the hospital at the time of birth.[9][10] Although no official press statement was given, most media channels and newspapers blamed Rainbow Hospitals[11] for the same.[12] The baby was taken to Beijing, China, New York, United States and Berlin, Germany for medical treatment.[13] On 19 March 2011, the baby's condition deteriorated and was pronounced dead at 1:00PM IST. Teja's family completed the last rites of the baby in Panjagutta crematorium. Members of film industry consoled Teja and expressed their condolences to his family for the loss of the baby boy.
