Ammar Khalid (born 29 June 1987) is a Canadian cricketer who plays for the Canada national cricket team.[1] He is an all-rounder batting right-handed and bowling right-arm medium fast. He made his List A debut on 27 July 2022, against Denmark in the 2022 Canada Cricket World Cup Challenge League A which was part of 2019–2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League.[2]

International career[edit]

In July 2022, he was named in Canada's squad for the 2022 Canada Cricket World Cup Challenge League A.[3] He made his List A debut against Denmark on 27 July 2022.[2]

In November 2022, he was named in Canada's T20I squad for the 2022 Desert Cup T20I Series.[4] He made his Twenty20 International debut on 14 November 2022, against Bahrain.[5] He ended his campaign in the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets.[6][7]

In March 2023, he was named in Canada's squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off.[8]

In February 2024, he was named as a part of Canada's squad for the 2024 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series, which was part of the 2023–2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.[9] He made his One Day International debut on 28 February 2024 against United Arab Emirates.[10]
