Amok Runner is a video game that was released on November 4th, 2022 to Steam by Gamedeus. It is based on the novel Amok by Stefan Zweig. The basic plot of the game follows a doctor who has a noblewoman client and gets attacked by diseased enemies. The game's Steam page describes the gameplay: "Discover the tragic events of a doctor who faces an existential crisis in a small, remote seaside town."
Speedrunning Challenge[edit]
Amok Runner was popularized by a $10,000 challenge MoistCr1TiKaL held in December-January of 2022-23 in which the person with the fastest recorded time to complete the game was awarded $10,000. Previous to this challenge, the game was not well-known.
