Amore Barnard (1992) is a South African musician known for her debut single Dis Naweek which was released on 30 June 2023.[1]
Biography
Amore was born on 25 December 1992, in Cape Town, and moved to George in the Garden Route. After gaining popularity in that town, she went on to record her first single Dis Naweek at Musicology Recording Studios owned by producer Darryl de Lange. [2]
Growing up in George, Amore attended Outeniqua High School where she matriculated in 2011, which is an Afrikaans high school located in George central.
Her mother, Danielle Nel (Barnard), who had been a teacher at Outeniqua High School, passed away in 2001 at the tender age of 37, and her father, Hennie Barnard, passed away in 2017 at the age of 66.
Career
Amore is a South African Afrikaans pop singer and songwriter. She became known for her first debut single Dis Naweek.
Amore's singing career began in 2019 with her first single Dis Naweek, setting the stage for Amore to flourish within the South African music industry.
Dis Naweek was released on the 30th of June 2023 on all digital streaming platforms, with her new bubblegum pop single Man Vat following shortly, releasing on the 24th of November 2023.
Amore is also collaborating with other known South African artists and has co-written on a number of productions produced and mastered by producer Darryl De Lange from Musicology Recording Studio's, also known as a band member to South African Band Mean Mr Mustard.
Amore has also tried her hand at poetry writing, to which her poem "Blindekol" was published in a school bundle "Tyd is 'n Bl*ksem", by Penguin Random House in South Africa.
