Amtivo Group is a UK-based provider of certification and business assurance services. Operating under the brand name Amtivo, the company delivers ISO certification and related services to organisations worldwide.

Amtivo Group was founded in 2018 with backing from the private equity firm August Equity[1][2]. The company was initially formed following the acquisition of British Assessment Bureau Limited[1] and has since expanded through additional acquisitions and organic growth. The group is headquartered in West Malling, Kent, England[3].

In September 2024, Amtivo Group announced that it had secured additional growth investment from Audax Strategic Capital[4][5] to support further expansion under the ownership of Charterhouse Capital Partners[6][7].

Activities

Amtivo Group provides certification and compliance services to organisations across multiple countries. The company maintains offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Norway, North America, Canada, China and Japan.

Through a network of accredited certification bodies recognised by organisations including the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), Accredia, and the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB), the group provides accredited ISO management system certification across several standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 45001, as well as sector-specific standards and schemes such as AS9100 and Cyber Essentials.

In addition to certification services, the group provides inspection and training services to organisations in sectors including manufacturing, services, food production, aerospace and automotive.

Acquisitions

Since its formation in 2017, Amtivo Group has expanded through a series of acquisitions of certification bodies and related service providers in Europe and North America[1].

Notable acquisitions include Certification Europe in March 2020[8][9][10] and UK Food Certification[11], a UKAS-accredited BRCGS food certification body. The group has also acquired several certification organisations in North America[12][13][14], including Orion Registrar, Inc.[15] and Advantage International Registrar, Inc. in November 2022, CMA Quality International Inc. in September 2024, and International Standards Authority, Inc. (ISA) in March 2025. These acquisitions have supported the group’s expansion in sectors including aerospace certification.

The company has announced plans for the British Assessment Bureau to rebrand as Amtivo in 2026[16][17][18].

Leadership and ownership

In September 2025, Caroline Plumb was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Amtivo Group[19], succeeding Mike Tims. The company operates under the ownership of Charterhouse Capital Partners[6].
