Career

Page is a senior research fellow at the The University of Western Australia's School of Allied Health. In this capacity, she is the Director of the Centre for Optimisation of Medicines.[10] She currently leads several large research projects into improving the quality use of medicines and medicines safety for older adults. Her research interests primarily relate to medicines safety and the quality use of medicines for older people, particularly those with dementia or chronic diseases or using polypharmacy.[11]

Researcher

Page is best known as a researcher.[12] Her work on deprescribing and the quality use of medicines for older people is well known.[13][14] Her work includes having developed an Australian potentially inappropriate medicines list[15] and the Medication Appropriateness Tool for Comorbid Health Conditions During Dementia. She has co-chaired clinical guidelines in deprescribing.[16] Projects like these focusing on the development of tools to implement in practice are a focus of her research.

Page's research has often explored pharmacy practice to identify current practice or test new interventions. As part of the Consultant Pharmacists' Services Research Network (COHERENT), her research contributed to the practice of consultant pharmacists. Other research she has conducted on pharmacist career paths found that many were planning on changing careers within the next 10 years.[17]

She is also well known for her work on prescribing for non-medical practitioners having contributed to this field for pharmacists.[4][5] She has also collaborated with Optometry Australia to develop a Quality Use of Medicines guideline for optometrists.[18][19]
