Early life and Education

Dr. Anchayil Reghu is a renowned professor of history. He is a skilled organizer, orator, writer, researcher, and social, cultural, and educational activist. He was born in Puthupally, Kayamkulam, in Alappuzha District in 1958. He received his early education in Kayamkulam. He earned his postgraduate degree in Malayalam from Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, and his M.Phil. degree from University College, and his PhD from the University of Kerala. He holds a Master of Arts degree in four subjects: Malayalam, English, Politics, and History, in addition to his M.Phil. and PhD degrees.

Career

Dr. Anchayil Reghu began his career in the Government Secretariat, Thiruvananthapuram. After a period there, he joined as a lecturer at Sree Narayana College, Chembazhanthi, Thiruvananthapuram. Subsequently, he served as a professor at various Sree Narayana Colleges and later became the Principal of SNDP Yogam College, Konni, Pathanamthitta. He held numerous academic committee positions, such as a member of the Board of Studies in History, the Postgraduate Board of Studies in History, the Faculty of Social Sciences, Chairman of the MA Board of Examinations, and Chairman of the Viva Board of Examinations. He also served as the Director of the Sree Narayana Study Centre for Social Change, University of Kerala.

Academic Activities

He has participated in and chaired numerous regional and national seminars, presenting papers. Many articles on Kerala history, art, literature, culture, and Sree Narayana literature have been published in various prestigious journals. He is a research guide at the University of Kerala and conducts examinations of research theses at other universities.

Social, Cultural and Educational Activities

He holds the position of general secretary in several social and cultural organizations, including the Sreenarayana Guru Samsarika Sangam, Social Justice Forum, Kerala Connect for Social Research, Sree Narayana Educational and Cultural Centre, and Sree Narayana Cultural Mission. He is also the Chairman of the Teachers Training Institute, Bharanikavu, Kayamkulam, and the Founder General Secretary of Mahakavi Kumaranasan Senior Secondary School, Pallickal, Kayamkulam. He served as a program officer for the National Service Scheme, a program officer for the Judicial Popular Project, and an employment guidance officer. He is a devoted follower of Sree Narayana Guru and an authority on his philosophy and literature. He has organised numerous seminars and meetings to disseminate the ideology and teachings of Sree Narayana Guru.

Awards

He has received numerous awards for his social and educational contributions. He received the Sahodaran Award for his outstanding work as a social worker in 1988. His books on "Sankar and Nivarthanam" are bestsellers and have garnered widespread recognition. These books have been subjects of considerable discussion across the state.
