Anderson Moore
Anderson Moore (1835–1901) was a former slave born 1835 in Mississippi. After the emancipation of the slaves in 1865, Moore moved from Fincastle, Texas and founded Moore Station, Texas with his wife Lucinda Adams.[1] He purchased 160 acres of land and donated a plot of land for a Methodist Church and school in 1867.[2] Over 100 years later, his descendants continue to reside in the town he founded.
