History[edit]
Andre Pettipas and The Giants formed in 2015 by brothers Andre and Travis Pettipas after adding drummer Mark Cosh to the lineup. following their very first practice the band entered a recording studio in Sydney, Nova Scotia to work on their debut album Stay Gold.
Stay Gold was released in March of 2016 with the first single A Long Way From Home featuring Ashley MacIsaac landing at #1 on The Eastcoast Countdown. Following the success of the first single the band shot a music video for their song Rubber Arm at the award winning Steinhart Distillery in Arisag Nova Scotia which included a cameo by Jeanna Harrison of The Trailer Park Boys.
With great success after releasing their debut album the band entered in a contest in 2017 called the Homegrown Challenge that was put on and sponsored by CFRQ-FM where they took first place which consisted of $15,000 worth of prizes including recording time at Coda Pop Studio based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, an artist development package with Groundswell Music and music equipment from Long & McQuade. With the outcome of this win the band entered the studio to record No Fools, No Fun.
The result of this EP lead the band to multiple Canadian Tours and a trip to perform at Live at Heart Festival in Örebro, Sweden.
Andre Pettipas and The Giants have shared the stage with Big Sugar, Matt Mays, Wintersleep, The Trews, Meghan Trainor, The Stanfields, Haywire and many more.
