Andreas Sundén
Andreas Sundén is the former Principal Clarinet of Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra[1] and has now the same position in Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra[2]. He currently holds a Professorship at Ingesund College of Music[3] and teaches at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm[4], Sweden.
Andreas was born in Sweden and started his clarinet studies at The Norwegian Academy of Music with professor Hans Christian Braein where he graduated 2001. Then followed two years of soloist studies for Hans Deinzer in Italy and after 2003 he was studying regularly for professor Yehuda Gilad (musician), USC.
Andreas is one of the leading clarinetists from the young generation of Scandinavian musicians. He is a musician that combines orchestral playing with solo engagements which includes orchestras like Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra[5], Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra[6] and Malmö Symphony Orchestra. He is several times winner of scholarships from Royal Swedish Academy of Music and has been prizewinner in Haverhill Sinfonia Soloist Competition[7] i England (2004) and Ljunggrenska tävlingen in Gothenburg[8] (2001).
Andreas is an active participant in chamber music and has played at Risør Chamber Music festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Turku Music Festival[9], Gloppen Music Festival and performed recitals in The Nordic Countries, Germany, England, Italy, Spain and USA. He has given Masterclasses in USA, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Spain[10], Italy and the Nordic countries[11].
His solo appearances include Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra[12], Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra[13], Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Jönköping Sinfonietta[14], Tapiola Sinfonietta, Valenciennes String Orchestra, Royal Swedish Army Band, Swedish Youth Wind Orchestra.
Before Andreas worked as Principal Clarinet Clarinet in Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra he held the same positions in The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Sweden.
Andreas is Artistic Leader of Voksenåsen Summer Academy Winds.[15]
Andreas is represented on CD recordings with Clarinet Concerto (Nielsen) and Marie Samuelsson clarinet concerto (Daphne 2018 & 2019).
