The Andrés Neumann Theatrical Archive consists of a set of documents and materials concerning the activities of theatrical production and international distribution carried out by the cultural producer and curator Andrés Neumann, from 1955 to 2015. After a general reordering of the material available, the entire Andrés Neumann Archive, as well as the theatre library which constitutes the Andrés Neumann Fund, was donated to the Funaro Cultural Center of Pistoia in 2010. In 2014 the Archive was declared historically important by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The Archive can be consulted by the public on site and online.

History

Between 2012-2013 the Department of Art History and Drama at the University of Florence developed a project of analysis and promotion of the archive called The Digital Memory of Contemporary Arts – the Andrés Neumann Archive under the direction of Prof. Renzo Guardenti.

In 2013 the volume entitled L’Archivio Andres Neumann. Memoria dello Spettacolo Contemporaneo by Maria Fedi was presented to the public with the participation of the Director Michelle Kokosowski, historic collaborator of Jerzy Grotowski and Tadeusz Kantor.

Thanks to the Regional Archival Superintendency, from 2016 to 2018 several projects of promotion of the Archive have been realized.

In 2017 the entire body of private and professional photographic material contained in the Andrés Neumann Archive - consisting of approximately 13,000 images - was scanned and digitized.
