Andrew Anastasios (born 9 March 1966) is a screenwriter, script editor and producer with a strong interest in historical narratives. Andrew co-wrote (with Andrew Knight) the 2015 AACTA Best Film winner, The Water Diviner (dir. Russell Crowe, 2014), for which he received AWGIE awards for Best Feature Film (original) and the Major Award for 2015 together with Andrew Knight. He was also nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Original Screenplay.[1] [2]

Recent credits include season 5 and 6 of Wentworth (2017) for Fremantle Media, two telemovies and two series of Jack Irish (2012-2018) for Easy Tiger and Secret and Lies (2014) for Hoodlum. Other credits include the series Australia: The Story of Us (2015) for Essential Media/Network Seven and telemovie The Broken Shore (dir. Rowan Woods, 2013). He has a number of feature projects in development including The Cartographer for South Pacific Pictures, Fearless Nadia for producer John Molloy and Batavia for Fear of God Films. Andrew is currently developing two crime series for Seven Studios.

With his wife, author and scriptwriter Meaghan Wilson Anastasios, Andrew co-wrote the best-selling novel The Water Diviner based on the script.[3] The audio book read by Jack Thompson was shortlisted for the international 2016 Audie Audiobook of the Year.[4]

Andrew was co-producer for Jack Irish: Dead Point and associate producer on the TV movie, The Broken Shore. He is represented by Cameron's film, television, literary and theatrical agency.[5]
