Andrew Delman (born May 26, 1987) is an American actor, comedian, writer and podcaster..[1] He first came to light from the animated web series The Most Popular Girls in School where he voices Shay Van Buren as well as Saison Margeurite. He also stars in the spinoff cartoon [2]. He is currently the cohost of the podcast Favorite Cheese with his wife Lee Newton[3]
Early life[edit]
Delman was born in Pomona, California to a Jewish father and a Frisian mother. Delman spent a lot of time on his mother's family dairy where he spent time milking cows, riding horses, and getting into trouble[citation needed].
He attended Upland High School, a Scottish themed high school, where he was in band and theater. Delman played tenor saxophone and bagpipes during his time there, becoming Pipe Major in his junior year[4]. Although musical, Delman fell in love with comedy while being a member of his high school Comedy Sportz team.
After high school, Delman got his theater degree from the University of California, Irvine from the Claire Trevor School of The Arts.
In 2010, he joined The Groundlings Theatre [5], studying improv and sketch comedy. While performing at The Groundlings, he met his wife Lee Newton in 2012.
Career[edit]
Delman has been seen in many national commercials. His first big commercial was for Microsoft's BING called discovering Hawaii[6], which was underscored by "Ho Hey" and what gave The Lumineers initial recognition[7]. Since then he has starred in commercials for Hotwire[8]Discovery +[9], Draft Kings[10], Pizza Hut[11], Verizon[12], Sprint[13], Progressive Super Bowl commercial[14], Priceline.com with Kalie Cuouco, Visa[15], Mobil 1 with Anthony Davis[16], etc.
Delman has also had roles on Television that include House of Lies with Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, Swedish Dicks as well as most recently on Mayan, MC where he has a pivotal scene with CM Punk[1].
Delman is a stand up comedian who is a regular at the Hollywood Improv[17] where he has a regular show called Delman's Definitely Not Star Search![18]
Delman now co hosts the podcast Favorite Cheese[3] with his wife and former SourceFed host Lee Newton.
