Andrew Griffith
Early life[edit]
Andrew was born in February 1971, grew up in South East London and attended the comprehensive St Marys & St Josephs school in Sidcup...[1]
He has a degree in Law from the University of Nottingham.[1]
Career[edit]
Andrew worked for Rothschild investment bank[2] before joining Sky plc (Known as British Sky Broadcasting before the European acquisitions in 2014) in October 1999 and he was appointed Chief Financial Officer in April 2008. [3] [4] [5] He became Group Chief Operating Officer of Sky in 2016 [1] [6] [7] [8] [9]. During this time he was also a founding director of Sky News Arabia [10][11]. He has been as outspoken in the campaign for Openreach to be separated from BT Group plc. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16].
He joined the Board of Just Eat plc in March 2014 as Senior Non Executive Director[17] [2] and became Interim Chairman in April 2017 [18] [19] [20] [21]
Political[edit]
Andrew was Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for in the Labour held seat of Corby & East Northamptonshire at the 2001 and 2005 UK General Elections, reducing Labour’s majority from 11,860 at the 1997 election to 1,517 in 2005[22] [23] [24]
Personal life[edit]
He has been married to Barbara who is a charity worker for more than twenty years. They have a son and a daughter.
