Andrew "Andy Mush" Russo (born 1935) is an American mobster and onetime Caporegime and street boss of the Colombo crime family.

Biography[edit]

Andrew Russo was born in New York City, New York on 1935, the cousin of Carmine Persico. [1] He soon became a Capo in the Colombo crime family. From 1973 to 1975, he served as acting underboss of the family, and he was sentenced to 14 years in prison on November 1986. [1] He was released on parole on July 1994, and he became the street boss of the family after Persico's arrest. [1] On August 1999, he was convicted of jury tampering, and he served 57 months in prison. [1] On 2010, he took over the family after his parole expired, succeeding the incarcerated street boss Ralph DeLeo. [1] On 2013, he was sentenced to 33 months in prison. [2] Michael Franzese allegedly rose to power under Russo.
