Andrew Winer

Andrew Winer (born 18 June 1966) is an American writer, author of the novels The Color Midnight Made (2003, national bestseller) and The Marriage Artist (2010). He has also published philosophical and literary essays and co-authored a screenplay that sold to Fox/News Regency.

Biography[edit]

Winer was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area[1] and studied at Skowhegan Art School. He received a B.A. in Fine Arts at the University of California (Los Angeles) and an M.F.A. in painting at the California Institute of the Arts. Subsequently, he received his M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of California, Irvine [2]. He is Chair of Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside [3]. In cooperation with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, he has conducted several public conversations with fellow authors and thinkers, such as Rachel Cusk, Geoff Dyer, Alex Espinoza, Juan Felipe Herrera, Jane Smiley, Colm Tóibín, or Adam Zagajewski. Winer currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
