Andrey Kudin (born on March 9, 1963, Dnepropetrovsk, USSR) is a Russian sinologist, writer and publicist. He is a member of the Russian Writers' Union, a doctor of theology, a specialist in the history of religions.[1] Kudin is an author of books about the history of Bulgaria,[2] the economy of China, the history of art of the temple architecture in ancient Russia. Also he is an author of a number of monographs about the economic and spiritual development of Asian and European countries.
Biography
Kudin graduated from the Moscow state Institute of international relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR and the Theological Academy named after saints Cyril and Methodius. He worked at the Institute of the Far East of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in various commercial structures, and now he is engaged in independent business activities.
Literary activity
Kudin's main literary work is the book "Bulgarian Mysteries" in three volumes.[3][4][5] It tells about the mysteries of Bulgarian history and puts forward hypotheses to explain them. The book is based on historical works and archaeological research. The author of the book gives his explanations of mysterious phenomena and events, and also gives obscure details about various personalities and events that left a mark on the history of Bulgaria. The book was originally written in Russian, but was later translated into Bulgarian and English. This publication caused a great interest among Russian and Bulgarian readers[1] , and was awarded “The Golden Eurasian Award” in the category "Ethnographic and ethnological research".[6]
Scientific activity
Kudin is a specialist in the history of religions and a doctor of theology. He is an author of numerous publications and monographs on the economic and spiritual development of Asian and European countries.[7]
Kudin studied the role of Chinese private business as the most important driver of the Chinese economy in the 1980s–2010s.[8]
Kudin's work is also devoted to the Byzantine influence and Russian traditions in the stone temple architecture of Kiev during the period of the formation of Christianity in Russia.[9]
Awards
He was awarded the Grand Golden Cross of the order of the Orthodox crusaders of the Holy Sepulchre and the order of St. Andrew the Apostle for special services in supporting the religious harmony and peace.[10]
