Matic was born on April 20, 1996 in Belgrade, Serbia to basketball coach Veselin Matić and constructional engineer Darinka Golubovic Matic.
College Career
2015–16 season
After committing late to the American Eagles, Matic turned out to be a major addition to the team's roster. On the season, Matic averaged 5.3 points per game, however, with an addition of minutes played, he managed to boost his team to the Patriot League basketball Tournament Semifinals with an average of 7.9 points per game late in the month of March.
2016–17 season
Due to a position change from Center (basketball) to Power forward (basketball) and consideration of a potential Redshirt (college sports), Matic received limited minutes in the beginning of his second year at American University. The Eagles felt Matic's absence on the court and only managed a record of 8-23, falling short against the Army Black Knights in Patriot League Tournament Play-in game.
