Aneesh Ravi is an Indian television and theatre actor, as well as a television anchor who is active in the Malayalam television industry.[1] He has also acted in Tamil TV serials such as Megala (2007–2010) and Shanthi Nilayam (2011–2012). Aneesh Ravi won the Kerala State Television Award for Best Actor for the serial Sree Narayana Guru (2005). He's also popular for comedy serials Karyam Nissaram (2012–2017) and Aliyan VS Aliyan (2018–2019).

Personal life

Ravi was born as the son of Mr. Raveendran and Mrs. Ambika at Chirayinkeezhu, Kerala.[2] He holds a post-graduate degree in Malayalam literature and diploma in Media cum Journalism. During his school and college days, Ravi did amateur plays and presented mimicry. He won the first prize in mimicry during the Kerala University Youth Festival in 1994.[3]. He is married to Jayalakshmi in 2003 and has two sons.

Career

His popular serials include Snehatheeram, Minnukettu, Meghala, Sthree, Sree Narayana Guru, Oridathoridathu, and Karyam Nissaram. Ravi started his career as a theatre artist in Raghu's Natakayogam, one among the oldest theatre troupes in Thiruvanathapuram. The one-man play, Choonda was a widely appreciated work. He later worked in professional troupes such as Padmasree, Souparnika and Sanghachetana. Some of his popular plays include ‘Ravanaprabhu’, ‘Overbridge’, and ‘Soothaputhran’.

Television career

Ravi made his stint in television as an actor with serial Snehatheeram aired on Doordarshan. He later appeared in soap operas like Mohanam, Sthree, Minnukettu, Alippazham, and Manasariyathe. His popular serials in Tamil include Meghala and thespian K. Balachander's Santhinilayam. For the titular role in the serial Sree Narayana Guru, Ravi won a State Award (2005). He is also a part of the comedy-drama series Karyam Nissaram which helped him gained more popularity. He plays the role of a village officer.

Apart from interviewing celebrities and being a judge for various reality shows, Aneesh has anchored shows such as Adipoli Swad, Thillana Thillana, City Girls, and Oru Nunakatha. He also hosts shows like Campus Colours, Cucumber City and Erivum Puliyum, . Tharolsavam, a reality show initiated by Kairali TV and Sundari Neeyum Sundaran Njanum another reality show initiated by Asianet TV for the small screen artists gave him ample opportunities to exhibit his skills in mime, skits and music. He has also anchored various other programs and participated in popular reality shows.[2] Aneesh Debuted as a producer through 2016 serial Moonu Pennungal under Varadayini creations.
