Angel O'Day

Angel O'Day is a fictional comic book character created by Tex Blaisdell, Ed Nelson Bridwell, Ale Jeffee, and Bob Oksner. Her first appearance was in Showcase #77. A derivative of DC Comics in 1968. Her comic was titled Angel and the Ape. Angel is a martial-arts-trained detective who solves crimes with her Gorilla partner Sam Simeon. Angel runs her own faltering detective agency. She is a curvy pinup model type but still smart enough to be her own career woman. While her partner Sam is meant to be the muscle of the agency Angel is more than capable of taking care of herself. In her first issue she uses her martial arts skills to put away three criminals while Sam sketches her for his comic strip). As well as martial arts and detective skill, Angel is also a skilled markswoman and capable go-go dancer. When Angel moved to a new comic called Meet Angel! it is revealed that Angel is closely connected to the supernatural. Her aunt, Evilisha, is both a witch and a double agent. In a reboot of her series in the 1990s it is revealed that Angel has a half-sister. Dumb Bunny for then satire series Inferior Five also from the sixties. In the 2000 was given a new look as a frequently unclothed and clumsy heroin.
