Angelina Novie de Carvalho (born 8 January 2008), known professionally as Angie Carvalho, is an Indonesian singer of Brazilian–Indonesian descent. She is best known as a top five finalist in the thirteenth season of the reality singing competition Indonesian Idol in 2025, which aired on RCTI.[1][2]
Early life and education
Angie Carvalho was born in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, on 8 January 2008. She is the daughter of Ronivon de Carvalho, a former Brazilian footballer, and Novita Febriyanti. She has two siblings, Jhonas Prince de Carvalho and Safira Queen de Carvalho.[3]
She attended SD Negeri Sungai Miai 7 Banjarmasin for her primary education and later studied at SMP Negeri 24 Banjarmasin. Since 2023, she has been a grade XI student at SMA Negeri 2 Banjarmasin. Aside from her academic life, Angie has actively participated in numerous local and national singing competitions.[4]
Career
Angie rose to public attention after participating in Indonesian Idol season thirteen in late 2024. Her distinctive vocal tone and energetic stage presence drew positive attention from both judges and audiences. She earned a Golden Ticket during the audition round and advanced through the competition until being eliminated in the Top 5 round in April 2025.[5]
One of her most notable performances was during the Spectacular Show 7 stage, when she performed D'Masiv's song "Merindukanmu" and received a standing ovation from all judges.
