Diocese of Ideato[1][2]is one of 12 Anglican dioceses in the Anglican Province of Owerri, itself one of the 14 provinces within the Church of Nigeria[3] (Anglican Communion) is an African diocese,[4]. The diocese was created in 1999 out of the Diocese of Okigwe-Orlu[5][6] The current bishop is Henry Okeke[7]. Anglican Diocese of Ideato holds synod annually[8].[9]. History
July 12, 1999 was a remarkable day in the life of Anglican Diocese of Ideato and the entire congregation, as it mark the return of the headquarters status of St. Peter's Church which was shifted to nkwerre in 1921,[12]
