Angry Birds Slingshot Stories is a short-form animated comedy television series based on the Angry Birds franchise by Rovio Entertainment. Co-produced by Rovio and the Indian animation studio Cosmos-Maya, the series premiered on YouTube and Apple TV on January 18, 2020.[3]
Unlike its predecessor Angry Birds Toons, this series focuses heavily on the behind-the-scenes mechanics of the original mobile games, exploring what happens right before the birds are launched from the slingshot and how the Minion Pigs construct their fragile structures.[4]
Premise
Set on Piggy Island (primarily around the Cobalt Plateaus), Slingshot Stories explores the humorous, mundane, and chaotic daily lives of the Birds and Pigs. The episodes humorously answer "behind-the-scenes" questions from the games, such as how the pigs manage to build massive structures in time, what happens to them after being "popped," and the mishaps that occur when the birds prepare to be launched from the giant slingshot. The characters communicate entirely in a gibberish language, relying on slapstick humor and expressive animations.[citation needed]
