Anhar Al Deek
Anhar Al Deek (أنهار الديك) is a Palestinian woman prisoner in Israeli Jail. She is 9 months pregnant and is expected to give birth in prison. Al Deek belongs to Kafr Ni'ma town, west of Ramallah. Al-Deek's family called for international intervention to free her for childbirth outside the prison.[1][2]
In August 2021, she sent a letter to his family sid that; "What do I do if I give birth when I'm away from you? I am handcuffed and how will I go through this experience when I am in jail and alone?" and she appealed to the human rights activists to take action against her imprisonment.[3][4][5]
She was arrested in March 2021 on charges of stabbing, though doubt has been cast of the veracity of the allegation, as she was only carrying a small fruit knife.[6]
Following international outcry, Al Deek was released on 2 September 2021 by the Ofer military court on 40,000 NIS ($12,500) bail, and was held under house arrest in her family home.[7]
