AniMate, an international animation film festival hosted in Sydney, Australia.[1], was created in 2018 by director Paolo Polimeni[2]. The first event (2020/21) received 582 entries, 155 of which will be screened at the 107 in Redfern, Sydney throughout 2021[3][4]. It is accepting submissions for the 2020/21 festival until June 30 2021, after which it will accept submissions for the 2021/22 festival[5]
Films are categorised between short and feature length (40 minute runtime threshold). The categories General, Anime and Children appear in both length sections. The other categories include:

·Short Animation (Student)
·Short Animation (Music Video)
·Feature Animation (Family)
