Anika Tasnim

Anika Tasnim is a Bangladeshi civil engineering researcher who specializes in transportation engineering. Her research focuses on travel behavior analysis, choice modeling, multimodality, and econometric approaches to urban mobility. Her work primarily examines sustainable and intelligent transportation systems in emerging cities, particularly Dhaka.
Education
Tasnim completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2026. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded a university technical scholarship in 2022 and a merit scholarship in 2024.[1]
She completed her secondary education at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, earning her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2018 under the Talentpool Scholarship program, and her Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) in 2020.
Academic activities
Tasnim served as the President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) BUET Student Chapter, where she led academic and professional student initiatives related to traffic and transit systems.
Research and publications
Tasnim's research utilizes data-driven methodologies and behavioral modeling to evaluate urban transportation challenges, including paratransit adoption, pedestrian risk perception, and public transit acceptance. Her work has been published in academic journals and presented at international engineering conferences, including the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting and the International Conference on Civil Engineering for Sustainable Development (ICCESD).
